  NewCaledonia_24-9-62_small.jpg New Caledonia item available from Judnick.com  scan0003_small.jpg New Caledonia cover available from Judnick.com  Multiple 24 -7 1962 TONTOUTA AEROGARE hand cancels tie 17 different New Caledonia stamps to #10 souvenir envelope from Transports Aériens Intercontinentaux (Orly Aérogare) mapping their entire aviation system in 2 colors over the entire back. Stamps include 3 fish & marine life stamps from the 1959 issue, 200-f Bourail airmail of 1959, 100-f airmail of 1948, 25-fr bumphead sturgeonfish airmail of 1962, etc. Possibly for a first-flight out of Tontouta. The back of the envelope was apparently sealed before the stamps were applied causing 2 small creases to the back paper only. After the stamps were applied 2 vertical folds (thankfully affecting only two perfs on the 4-f fisherman stamp, missing all else) were made so that the souvenir could be enclosed within a smaller envelope--presumably necessary for a non-local recipient because of insufficient address area. $14.00 n

"VO2RF" Fort McAndrew Newfoundland (Hq 66th AACS, APO863) QSL card mailed free DEC 16 1947 to Sayville New York (clear DEC 19 Westhampton Beach  transit marking MISSENT TO WESTHAMPTON BEACH, N.Y. because addressed incorrectly to West Sayville, forwarded to Sayville) by operator Master Sergeant Ray J. Forrester, 2 corners with small creases. Pre-1928. "A FIFTY MILE / SIGHT SEEING / TRIP / ON THE / U.S. MAIL BOAT / UNCLE SAM" regular-postcard size booklet in 4 panels, explanation inside gives list of landing times at the various islands (Loon Island, Pine Island, Bear Island, etc.) for the floating post office captained by Edward Levallee, corrected to remove reference to Eastern Standard Time. 4 small silvery remnants from former mounting at corners obscure nothing, small residue from tape at top center of one panel. Captain Edward Levallee operated the mail boat until 1927. Also included: a small photo of passengers on board at a dock, with handwritten caption on back 'The Mail Boat Delivering  / & taking on mail at  / one of the islands in / Lake Winnepesaukee", also with small silvery remnants at its corners.
